Strala Teacher Training

It's been a while since I've posted an actual update. I haven't been slacking, I swear! I've been really busy with life (surprising, I know) But I had my first weekend of teacher training at Strala! It was everything I've been waiting for, and more!

But let's start back a few months ago.

Back at the end of May I signed up to do the teacher training and was so excited to actually go take a class at Strala.

So then June came around and I took my first class. Ever since then I've known that I made the right choice in doing my teacher raining there. It just feels right to me when I'm there. There's no other way to explain it. You just know. Since that time, I've taken one non-Strala yoga class and it drove me crazy. It didn't feel right. I ended up leaving the class more tense than before I took it! Keep in mind, I work in a studio and get free classes; that's how much I believe that Strala is for me.

September 7 came so quickly. I didn't really plan out much of anything when it came to my first weekend in the city. I didn't even know where I was going to stay until 4 days before I went! I just had a feeling that everything would work out and be okay, and it was :)

Friday

On Friday I made my 5 hour drive to New Jersey, parked my car, and boarded a train. I was pretty nervous because I never went to NYC alone and the whole thing was very intimidating to me. I got toPenn Station, stopped by Whole Foods, Central Park, and then went to the place that I was staying at. Very low key night, but it was nice!

Saturday

Saturday I was wide awake at 7 a.m. (what else is new) So I just hung out for a while and then went into the city around 9 a.m. I wanted to take the Strong class at 11 so I had a little bit of time to kill. I went into a few stores and just walked around until it was time for class. Then I took the strong class with Tara and if you've never taken a Strong class at Strala, go. Right now, just go.

There were so many people there! The room was completely full. It was a great atmosphere and you could tell that people were happy to be there and enjoyed every minute of it. I know I did. Everyone moved so freely and gracefully. I'm sure it was a beautiful thing to watch as well as be a part of.

Then it was training time! Everyone introduced themselves and then we went over the itinerary of the course and did some of the Strong sequence. It was so much fun. So so fun. I left there on Saturday afternoon so happy and at ease.

Sunday

I was up bright and early on sunday as well. I hung out until about 9 a.m. and then made my way to Union Square. I did a little and had lunch with a couple of girls from training. Then we went to Strala. Sunday was a lot of fun too! We went over the rest of the Strong sequence and talked a lot about movement, safety, and doing what feels best for your body.

After training I hopped on the train and made my way back home!

I can't wait until next weekend. We're all beginning to get to know each other a little better and I'm so excited to see what relationships I develop with my fellow trainees. I've done only 6 hours of training so far and it's already changing my life overall. I can't wait to see how much I transform as well as how much my practice transforms over the next two months. And I'm so happy that I get to share it all with you :)

Check back next week for more! We begin leading on this Sunday, so that'll be an experience. So exciting :)
